The Timber

Cabins are available in substantial 28mm or 44mm logs. Our log cabins are constructed in the traditional way, with corner cross-over joints that are highly wind and water resistant. All wood is kiln dried to reduce shrinkage, and windows, doors and posts are laminated to prevent warping as much as possible. Internal floors are included in our log cabins, comprising of 19mm floorboards and finished with decorative skirting boards. Any posts on your design will be 9cm x 9cm thick, providing sturdy support for your canopy or gazebo.

The Windows & Doors

Windows and doors are double glazed as standard, and arrive sealed and fitted with draught strips. All doors are fitted with a high-quality cylinder lock, including a set of keys. Chrome door handles are supplied, along with aluminium wear strips to protect the sill. Door hinges are adjustable in all directions, and are fitted with hinge covers for a clean finish. See the full range of our windows and doors on our 3D Configurator, these can be placed where needed in your log cabin.

The Roof

Choose from a pitched or flat roof for your log cabin. Pitched roofs are supplied with felt shingles in a choice of five colours, whilst EPDM rubber is supplied with flat roofs, together with wide aluminium trims to finish your roof off neatly.

The Design

Our cabins offer plenty of flexibility when it comes to the design of your new building. All models can be adapted to suit your requirements in terms of dimensions, wall thickness, windows & doors and treatments. Either start with a building you like and alter it as required, or select a blank template to design your own building from scratch. The process is simple with our clever 3D Configurator, which displays graphics and pricing as you go.

The Insulation

With options to add roof and floor insulation, turn your log cabin from a summerhouse into a year-round garden room.

The Treatments

We offer a range of treatment options for your new log cabin. For the walls of your cabin choose from untreated timber, pre-treatment in a selection of five colours or pressure treatment. For the windows and doors, select from untreated timber, pre-treatment in a choice of five colours or a painted finish in a choice of two neutral colours.

Pre-TreatmentAll interior and exterior surfaces are pre-treated with an impregnating agent (primer). Parts of your cabin that won't be accessible after assembly are treated, and your cabin is immediately protected against mould and decay. Your cabin will need to be treated or painted on the outside within 12 months, within 6 months if white and as soon as possible if colourless.

Pressure Treatment - Wood is placed into a large boiler, filled with impregnating agent, and is vacuum drawn. The impregnating agent is pressed into the wood. Pressure impregnated wood is low maintenance in terms of being resistant to rot, although it will need treating for water resistance over time. Pressure treatment extends the lead time of your log cabin due to the required drying time. Please note dryness and / or shrinkage cracks may occur in the wood.

Painting - Windows and doors can arrive pre-painted if required. We offer painting in White or Dusty Grey, designed to tone in with most colour choices. Two coats of paint are applied and your windows and doors are protected for approximately 5 years.
